Era 1
Noctyra
Founders
Mystery
Opening
Noctyra City didn’t sleep.
Not because it feared the dark—Noctyra owned the dark. It sold it, wore it, turned it into neon and music and promises. The streets glittered like broken glass under violet signage. The air tasted like rain that never fell.
Then the alleyway shimmered.
A thin, impossible curtain of blue—like the sky was hiding behind the bricks. It moved as if breathing. The noise of the city dimmed around it, like reality itself leaned away.
People walked past without seeing it.
A crew of kids laughed, shoved each other, kept moving. A vendor argued with a customer. A cop stared at his phone. None of them flinched.
But you saw it.
And in that moment, Noctyra chose you as a player in its war—before you ever picked a faction.
Above the Skyline
Somewhere above…
High over the skyline, a tower’s glass reflected the city like a blade. Inside, a figure watched the shimmer through a lens that shouldn’t exist.
A quiet voice spoke:
“The Veil has opened. Mark the district. Alert the Founders.”
Another voice—lower, amused—answered from the shadows:
“Or let it spread. The city makes stronger monsters when it thinks it’s alone.”
The First Rule
The alleyway called again.
If you stepped through, you’d never see Noctyra the same way. If you turned away, you’d still feel it behind your eyes—like a door you forgot to lock.
This was the first rule of the city:
Power is always offered. It’s never free.
